Brandon Bourassa is a Research Technician at Climate Central, where he supports real-time attribution analyses that connect daily weather to human-caused climate change. He works closely with the Attribution and Realtime Climate teams to analyze temperature and extreme weather events, develop workflows for Climate Shift Index (CSI) products, and communicate scientific insights to the public. Brandon specializes in atmospheric river research and has conducted extensive analyses on how these storms, and the extreme precipitation they bring, are shifting in a warming climate.

Before joining Climate Central, he worked as an Air Quality and Environmental Analyst, contributing to air quality and environmental planning projects across California. He holds an M.S. in Weather and Climate Risk and Data Analytics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.S. in Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences from UC San Diego. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, going to Disneyland, and playing basketball.
