A Fly Fishing Guide Sees Trouble for Trout

A Fly Fishing Guide Sees Trouble for Trout

Craig Matthews, long-time fly-fishing guide, gives an eyewitness account of the changes he's seen in over thirty-plus years on the rivers around West Yellowstone, Montana.

Program Summary

Perhaps few fishing guides, if any, know the trout fishing around West Yellowstone, Montana better than Craig Matthews. But Matthews has witnessed a climate trend for Montana over the decades he's fished that, if it continues unchecked, looks to pose serious, measurable threats to Big Sky country and its iconic trout. Climate Central interviewed Matthews while producing our Montana story for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS.
