Woods-Placky Joins 'Geeks' for White House's Hangout

On Friday, Climate Central's Bernadette Woods-Placky got to hang out on Google+ with other weather and climate experts to discuss the polar vortex and extreme weather. The hangout was part of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's We the Geeks series, which was created to look at the present and future of science and innovation in the U.S. Over the course of the 45-minute discussion, Woods-Placky and others talked about the hotly contested connection between changes in the Arctic and extreme weather, how meteorologists can use data to educate the public, and ways the public can prepare for extreme events. The conversation can be watched in full below.
