Mission & Vision

Climate Central’s mission is to provide factual information to help the public and policymakers make sound choices about climate change. Climate Central’s vision is to be the reliable up-to-date source of climate information, presented in compelling and effective ways that reach large and influential audiences.

Climate Central produces stories that show the local impacts of global warming and explore solutions.

The organization seeks to build a bridge between the scientific community and the public, providing a steady flow of information packaged in images and language that creates a new level of understanding about the challenges climate change poses to society, as well as about proposed technological solutions and policy initiatives.

Climate Central will produce locally-focused stories about the climate challenge for communities across America, and strive to create breakthrough iconic images and video that elevate the national dialogue.

Climate Central wants audiences to see and understand possible futures with as much clarity and local detail as science can support.

Climate Central operates without partisanship, bias, or lobbying. It is an independent nonprofit organization, a 501©(3) public charity headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey and with an office in Palo Alto, California.
