Image of the Day: China’s Poor Air Quality From Above

This NASA satellite image shows the bad air quality in China occurring in mid-January. Residents of many cities in China were recommended that they stay indoors, as the air quality was the worst in recent history. The air quality was so bad, the government ordered factories to scale back its emissions. According to news reports, hospitals also saw an increase of more than 30 percent in patients complaining of respiratory problems.
