Only those cities with climate stations having complete data records going back to 1965 were included. Data for the top 200 largest cities was accessed via ACIS (http://www.rcc-acis.org/)

The Hottest cities in the U.S. are ranked according to their average annual temperatures from 1981-2010.

The Fastest-Warming cities are ranked according to their rate of warming of annual average temperatures from 1965-2015.
