Woods Placky on This Summer’s Extreme Weather

Woods Placky on This Summer’s Extreme Weather
Program Summary

It has been a summer of extreme weather, and our Chief Meteorologist Bernadette Woods Placky spoke with The Weather Channel about climate change's connection to these severe weather events.

"What we do know with climate change and hurricanes is we're getting more heavy rainfall, we're getting a higher, more impactful storm surge because of sea level rise, and that our waters are warming — and that is the base for where these storms form and get that extra moisture for the heavier rainfall."
