A Graphic Tale: July 4th Climate Extremes in Your City

The glorious Fourth of July brings several things to mind: independence, fireworks, parades, cookouts — and hot weather. While the East Coast will be dealing with Arthur this holiday, many other parts of the country will be dealing with heat. The Fourth isn’t always a scorcher, but the record high temperature for the date in most parts of the continental U.S. is in the high 90s at least, and stands at over 100°F in points as far north as Great Falls, Mont., and Minneapolis, while the Southwest bakes in records in the 110s.
