Warming Winters in the U.S.

The graphic above highlights the way winters have changed in the United States between 1895 and 2010 by charting the average low temperature of the coldest month of each year over that time. Some periods, lasting years or even decades, have clearly been relatively mild, while others have have been colder. Overall, though, the trend is clearly upward, toward warmer winters.
