Image of the Day: A Swell Idea for Surfing, More or Less

Repost This

Surfers are convinced that storms driven by climate change are causing bigger swells, but according to the Pacifc Standard, the periods between those swells are likely to lengthen. So although there may be several days of epic surf, there is likely to be a month or more of excruciating flatness to follow. And then there is the issue of sea level rise changing where and how the waves break. The Pacific Standard noted that even a foot change in the tide line can mean the difference between great and mediocre waves.
