Since launching its website in 2009, Climate Central has been producing news stories, blogs, videos, and dynamic graphics covering all aspects of climate science and policy. Now, it’s time to welcome another sibling to the Climate Central family: the Climopedia podcast.
Featuring scientists and journalists from Climate Central, as well as experts from around the country, the new Climopedia podcast offers a fresh take on news from the climate science community.
In its inaugural episode, Climopedia takes a look at one of the comprehensive America’s Climate Choices reports, recently released by the National Research Council.
With what seems to be countless climate change reports being released these days, what is so unique about this one? Well, the report explores how the science of climate change is advancing and where future research should focus, all with a distinctly American perspective. As an example of what science has clarified lately and where there is still significant uncertainty, we’ve focused on projections of sea level rise during the next century. After speaking with Ken Miller of Rutgers University, an expert in long-term sea level rise, it’s clear the slowly rising waters around the United States are going to play a major role in coastal development decisions in the coming years.
In addition to Miller, joining me in this episode from Climate Central are Andrew Freedman, Michael D. Lemonick, and Ben Strauss.
